    This is the history of New Bethel Baptist Church, formerly First Baptist Church, Pinners Point. Our Church history has been passed on to us in oral and written tradition with the help of members such as Mrs. Nancy Brown, Mrs. Roberta Lightfoot and Mrs. Myrtle Farmer (our former Church Clerk). Reverend A.L. James, the second pastor of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, is credited with erecting the first permanent structure on the corner of South Street and Church Street (now Marion Street) in WAYCROSS (the east section of the Black community); thus the location of the second site for Mt. Bethel Baptist Institutional Church.
